These relationships do not replace the responsibility of Koinonia Church's local leadership, governing elders, or congregational life. Rather, they strengthen and support that local leadership by providing trusted relationships outside the local church through which our pastors and leaders can receive encouragement, counsel, accountability, and apostolic perspective.

We believe that local-church autonomy and apostolic relationship are not competing principles. A healthy autonomous church can willingly submit itself to godly relationships and receive from the wisdom, experience, correction, encouragement, and spiritual authority of proven leaders without surrendering its responsibility to lead the local congregation under the lordship of Jesus Christ.

Through our relationships with MFI and One Focus, we seek to remain connected to a larger expression of the Body of Christ, to grow healthy leaders and churches, to develop future leaders, to strengthen one another, and to participate together in the work of planting, strengthening, and multiplying churches for the glory of God.
